A delegation from the Kingdom of Bahrain, headed by Engineer Ahmed Abdulaziz Al-Khayyat, CEO of the Urban Planning and Development Authority, visited the Department of Municipalities and Transport in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, to discuss the exchange of expertise and fruitful experiences, and to review the latest practices in the field of urban planning.

The CEO stressed the importance of such visits as an extension of the strong fraternal ties that unite the two brotherly countries, as well as to learn about the experiences and initiatives that fall within the framework of upgrading the urban planning sector and achieving the sustainability of cities in accordance with international best practices, thus contributing to achieving tangible development in the urban development sector to keep pace with The needs of citizens and residents. Pointing out that this visit reflects the common directions between the two parties regarding the importance of investing in the human element, as it is the most important basic pillar for achieving development in all sectors.


He pointed out the aspiration of the two sides to continue this constructive cooperation in the field of exchanging experiences, successful practices, and mutual visits that aim to train and develop national cadres and improve technical skills to enhance professional capabilities, thus contributing to an integrated and sustainable urban development.


During the visit, the Bahraini delegation was briefed on the latest urban planning methods in the field of urban development, sustainable development and real estate projects that enrich the experience of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi, which pushes for the development of cities and urban areas, which are considered one of the most important pillars for achieving the sustainability of cities.
