This came during an expanded working meeting held by HE the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning with Eng. Aref Hejres, Chairman of the Real Estate Development Association, and a number of members of the association, in the presence of senior officials of the Ministry, the Urban Planning and Development Authority and the Housing Bank, to discuss opportunities to enhance partnership and cooperation between the government and private sectors to develop the real estate sector. in the Kingdom.
During the meeting, the minister noted that the government land development rights program announced by the ministry represents an opportunity to strengthen an effective partnership between the government and private sectors, through the participation of real estate development companies in the implementation of housing units, which will be directed to citizens benefiting from housing financing at prices commensurate with the value of the funds. Noting that the opportunity is ripe for real estate development companies to play a major role in the system of providing immediate housing services to citizens.
In a related context, Minister Al-Rumaihi affirmed that the Urban Planning Authority was keen, when preparing the regulatory requirements for reconstruction in the various governorates of the Kingdom, to take into account the developmental aspects that contribute to facilitating the development of real estate projects by private sector companies, stressing that the recently launched "Planning" services platform contributed to accelerating The pace of work and response to requests at a record speed, with the aim of encouraging real estate development companies to invest in this vital sector that supplies the national economy of the Kingdom.
The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning praised the role of the Bahraini Real Estate Development Association in implementing real estate projects in the Kingdom, and the clear response to the participation of the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain in providing housing solutions for citizens benefiting from social housing services, noting the great capabilities undertaken by private sector institutions, which qualify them to implement social housing projects in accordance with Developed plans and programs to achieve government objectives.
For his part, Eng. Aref Hejres, Chairman of the Real Estate Development Association, emphasized the growing partnership with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and the Urban Planning and Development Authority, pointing to the importance of prioritizing the real estate sector and adopting initiatives that contribute to providing more housing services to citizens.
Hegras pointed out that there are many development opportunities in the real estate sector in the Kingdom, praising the increase in the rates of organizing real estate exhibitions in the Kingdom recently, which contribute to increasing the activity of the real estate sector during the coming period.
The president and members of the Bahraini Real Estate Development Association presented a number of proposals to expand the partnership between the two sectors, stressing the concerted effort of everyone in order to develop plans and strategies that respond to the requirements of the real estate market and develop social housing, and work with the government to support the government land rights development program, and find initiatives and invest opportunities that benefit citizens .
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning is currently working on developing the outputs of the Government Land Development Rights Program, which is scheduled to provide 19 thousand housing units. In Khalifa City, noting that project implementation packages in Bahrain's housing cities, and sites designated for the residential building strip, will be launched successively, according to the program's schedule.
